Chipmunk Sand Bath

This sweet Merriam's Chipmunk has been so stoked to find our bird feeders :) There are currently two hanging out, we believe one male and one female, with this being the male. He runs up and down the patio stairs between food and shelter, stopping to eat while swaying his tail horizontally in a hypnotic rhythm.
This is the first time we have seen a dust-bathing Chipmunk, and it looks so satisfying, doesn't it? Check out my Sand Bathing Owl post for more deets on why animals dust bathe.
